HS6 Solenoid Valve

This flanged, industrial refrigeration duty solenoid valve is very simple and compact but rugged in construction. Body is plated steel alloy with a direct lifting stainless steel plunger that contains a teflon seat that closes on a stainless steel orifice. When electrically energized, seat opens wide; when de-energized, it closes to stop flow in the arrow direction on the valve body.

This small, direct lifting valve is used primarily as a pilot for various larger gas-powered or liquid powered main valves, as a remote pilot for back pressure regulators or other devices, or as a liquid stop valve for expansion valves, float valves, or as a general purpose pilot line for ammonia, R22, R134a, CO2 and other approved refrigerants or oil.

HS4D Two Step Solenoid Valve

Hansen Technologies introduces the HS4D Two Step Solenoid Valve. The HS4D is based on the same strength, reliability, design principles and craftsmanship as the standard Hansen HS4A Solenoid Valve—with added versatility. The two step solenoid design provides three positions for the valve: fully closed, partially open (10% stroke), and fully open. These valves are normally closed and will revert to the closed position in the event of a power failure. The valve can be opened via the manual opening stem for pump-out during maintenance.

Similar to the standard HS4A, the HS4D is superior in its ability to overcome dirt and sticky oil during opening, as well as function in an oil-free “dry” system.

HS4A Solenoid Valves

These advanced design, strong bodied, precision manufactured solenoid valves control the on-off flow of refrigerant. They are superior in their ability to overcome dirt and sticky oil during opening and closing, and operate smoothly even in an oil-free “dry” system.

When electrically energized, the upstream pressure is ported through the pilot solenoid to the top of the piston to push it downward and open the main valve seat wide; when de-energized, pressure is no longer ported to the top of the piston and a spring closes the main valve seat to stop flow in the arrow direction on the valve body.

ST Strainer

These rugged Strainers (Filters) are specifically designed to facilitate the removal of foreign materials from refrigeration systems. Strainers help prevent damage to valves and other components, thereby reducing costly service and downtime. They can also be installed as a separate unit. They are available in 1/2″ to 6″ (13 mm to 150 mm) sizes.

Motorized Control Valves

Hansen’s new ½” thru 4” Motorized Control Valve is a direct motor actuated valve designed for operation in Dx, liquid makeup, temperature, pressure and level control applications for a wide variety of refrigerants.

With its industry leading Safe Working Pressure (SWP) and MOPD rating of 800 PSIG, this valve also features water tight, weather proof, IP 67 rating for reliable outdoor use along with factory set plug-and-play logic for quick and hassle-free installation. Manufactured for quality & reliability with automotive grade assembly technology, this valve has been proven in the lab and field.

Remote Gas Detector

Hansen Technologies offers a complete line of industrial
quality Gas Detector, Controller and Alert Systems for
refrigerants and other common gases. These state-of-
the-art gas detection products utilize a range of sensing
technologies to suit a given application. Available in
several configurations to meet various application
requirements with optimum accuracy and reliability.

Gas Detector Controller

The Hansen Gas Detection Controller, HGD-C-2
and HGD-C-8, is intended to be used to provide
audio-visual alerts and information on the status of
a network of gas detectors in a centralized location.
This allows clear at-a-glance visualization of any
alarm or fault status on a connected gas detector in a
location outside of the monitored space, as required
by many regulatory codes and standards.

Refrigerant Float Switch

The Hansen Refrigerant Float Switch (HLL series) is used to electrically indicate or control a liquid level by opening or closing a single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch. Its simple, reliable design provides long life performance for almost any application.

To overcome the most common reason for existing float switch failure-switch burnout-a heavy-duty 10 amp snap action Honeywell Micro Switch® is used. This switch is sealed in a clear housing to allow visual confirmation of switch action but protection from tampering. In addition, the switch is surrounded by an inert gas that provides an environment which inhibits corrosion. An optional switch housing heater prevents moisture penetration in humid environments. These float switches have a rugged steel tank assembly and a high-strength, large diameter ball stem to eliminate potential stem bending or breakage. Hansen Refrigerant Float Switches are interchangeable with R/S LL series float switches.

WLT and WLT-C Wire Level Transducer Probes

Designed to provide 4-20 mA output. They are field modifiable and programmable to meet application requirements. Web based software for programming specific configuration. Compact design minimizes shipping costs.

Typical applications include vertical vessels, pilot receivers and pump accumulators. The WLT probes are direct replacement for LP and VLT probes and the WLT-C probes are replacements for probes/controllers with valve control functions.

Case Stories: Lake Ontario Fruit Co.

John Gay, Lake Ontario Fruit Co.’s plant engineer, needed a way to make sure the company’s inventory was protected during ripening intervals and through the critical harvest period. His main goal was to eliminate any mechanical problems and improve temperature control.
